HERBAL MEDICINE FOR BIRTH WORKERS
This course is designed for birth workers and perinatal health care providers to deepen their knowledge of safe and effective use of herbal medicine, nutrition and supplements during the perinatal stages. Topics that will be explored include, but are not limited to: Endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal regulation, common pregnancy symptoms, birth support and postpartum nourishment. Each class will include physiology, pathology of conditions and herbal monographs in-depth. Olfactory experiences of herbs will also be explored to create lasting relationships with the herbs and to deeply embody their actions. Proper training will be conducted enabling participants to effectively recommend herbal remedies to their clients within their practice. A written open book exam, and a take home assignment alongside 3 client case studies will be needed to be submitted and passed to gain certification within our program. A 1:1 individual online follow up will be conducted with each of the participants to go over any questions that they may have with future clients and to review their case studies and exam. Recommended texts are not essential for study but highly recommended for practice.
